  2. Anyone care to comment on the possibility of creating a new MMO client, artwork, world, etc. made to connect to a MaNGOS server?
  3. hello ! im running a 3.3.5a WOTLK server... (the best for me...) but i downloaded a 4.3.4 FR client somethere.... v .... and when i click wow.exe it gives errors : (i know that) it needs the blizzard launchpad, account verifiaction etc... all these annoying stuffs ! -> so how do you launch it ? (my DL is got just client files, so no profile/customs/ etc............ in folder) (for planning to update my db's to cataclysm...) Thx in advance, Edit : MadMax, if eventually u got just 2 minutes... please ? thx !
  4. Hi all Just compiled and got my first WoW Zero server up and running. Thanks guys for all the hard work! However for reasons that are too complicated to go into I can't run the Auth server on its default port 3724, so have changed the RealmServerPort in realmd.conf to 3725. However I'm now unable to authenticate against it. I'm happy the firewalls are all configured properly, and both realmd.exe and mangosd.exe start fine. Is the port number 3724 baked into the WoW client executable, and if so is there anyway to tweak it? Failing an ability to tweak it - does anyone know of a lightweight port redirector that I can run on the client to translate the port info?
  5. Well I don't know how you guys got it working because I followed everything to the mark and it still goes and checks for new updates and trying to load the blizzard launcher I am running 4.3.4 client and the right build but did not see realmlist.wtf so had to add it but things are still trying to update. God I will pay someone to help me lol. I am rerunning the file WoW Regeneration.exe
  6. So I'm trying to figure out how to extract the game assets. I've built the Mzero 0.20 server on Ubuntu 14.04, and everything seemed to go fine. I've got the 1.12.1 client installed on Windows 7. I've also copied the client install up to a separate directory on the Ubuntu server in case I could do the extraction better there. I started trying to extract the assets on Ubuntu, since I'm a linux sysadmin by trade, so I figure it wouldn't be too bad. I wasn't able to find all the extractors in the location in wiki, nor was I able to get the ones I could find compiled. They would fail looking for libz and libmpq. Even though libz is installed and I built and install libmpq from the server git clone. I briefly looked at hacking the Cmake makefiles to add the libraries , but they are in /usr/lib, so I'm not sure why they aren't being found. So I figured maybe it was easier on Windows. So I copied all the extractors over to the client directory on my W7 install, and then saw that the automated extraction script was a bash shell. I installed cygwin, but the script bombs out with an error in the DisplayHeader() function definition. Running the tools by hand results in Read LiquidType.dbc file...Could not open DBCFile DBFilesClient\LiquidType.dbc. Fatal error: Invalid LiquidType.dbc file format! Is there anywhere a better documented way to proceed. I'd really like to get the server up to play with, and the mysql stuff looks pretty straightforward, but I can't get the assets extracted. Any help appreciated. Thanks
  7. Does anyone have an untainted copy of 3.3.5a? I've been all over the place. Either someone has had them all removed from torrent sites or they are no longer seeded. This is very frustrating indeed. Either way, I need a copy of the Wrath of the Lich King client. So if someone has it or knows where I can get a usable copy, it would be greatly appreciated. This last copy appeared to be good until I went to extract the vmaps then it crashed because the MPQs had been tinkered with and no one said anything about that. There is another copy that I might be able to use. I play from time to time on Heroes WoW so might be able to use their 3.3.5a client. It's got an expansion pack in it, but it's strictly client side as far as I know. I'll give that a try, but if you do know where to get an untainted copy, it would be greatly appreciated. I have no clue if this will work so a backup option would be greatly appreciated.
  8. So i finally did get it up and running but for some reason the build I did for Mangos two, I did pull it recursive https://github.com/mangostwo/database.git using branch Develop21 WorldSocket::HandleAuthSession: Client attempted to log in using inval id client OS (). WorldSocket::handle_input: Peer error closing connection errno = Invalid argument (bit of typo in there) so I know I have the right client for MangosTwo and server Ok its not a build error but some kind of client/server connection problem, it logs in just fine goose to char select and immediately logs you out
