Hey guys, I'm currently looking into the Spell.dbc file and was wondering if someone could give me a hand in pointing out important areas to be able to help balance out some spells. As it is quite confusing and not at all clear on how each entry interacts with itself and others that it is linked to. For example the Seal of Wisdom spell on how it works with its ranks aswell as how it works with the judgement of wisdom spell. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated as im just starting out and want to learn as much as i can.
For many many years now I have found the DBC handling in MaNGOS odd in that (to me at least) it is a perfect candidate for moving the data into a database, but has always been shunned Using the Mangos Extractor (found in the MangosTools github repo), the data can be extracted into sql files which can then be loaded into the db. Why bother you may ask ? 1) Having the data in a db and mangos access it from there means that the facility to correct DBC 'bugs/errors' on the server becomes an option, rather than having 'hacks' in the code to correct them 2) Having the data in a DB means that Mangos DB references can be compared to DBC references 'on the fly' to check for any discrepancies. 3) The Wiki needs the basic information regarding DBC use and fields anyway. I had started on a design for this late last year - Which is why there is some DBC information on the Wiki But earlier this year, I was looking to bring a few of my DBC related 'side' projects together as a single project. Namely: DBC to SQL convertor (Mangos Extractor) DBC SQL importer Scripts DBC Data Remapper Tool - For wiring up which DBC files / fields belong to which version of WOW DBC Wiki entry creator DBC Docs Editor (Based on the DBDocs Editor) - Including Reading / Creating the .XML files which the Mangos Extractor uses to map the fieldnames
Hi there, im trying to install the newly oploaded file zero r20 from madmax, but when im trying to extract the maps with ExtractResources.sh i get the error message this is an ace.dll error, it does extract the dbc an maps but i comes to a hold when it starts with the vmaps i get this error what should i do now greets marcel
Greetings. I downloaded the latest Mangos Three compiled server from MadMax post. I have Cataclysm 4.3.4 (15595) in a folder on my desktop. I have a windows 7 64 bit machine with over 4 GB ram. I followed the instructions in the readme and copied the extractor files to the client directory. I have run Git Bash, terminal, terminal as administrator and have had the same errors. Ad.EXE stops working (although it appeared the DBC extracted as the folder is full of stuff) Maps directory never creates VMaps then fails as well with errors saying the directory doesn't exist. I am guessing since Ad.EXE fails/stops working that the daisy chain of events fails. Am I doing something wrong? I could be a id10T error but I have checked the forum and tried administrator on the terminal, running the extractor all at once, in pieces (meaning just the DBC and maps first)...same problem. Happy to try something, just need some helpful guidance. Thank you kindly. I see this in the detailed logs...what is the dir_bin file? Is that something ad.exe creates?
