have you installed scriptdev2+ytdb+acid with your Mangos, i have the full package and DK quests work fine,

and you can set in mangos database what area DK are started(spawn)

Hello all. I am very new to this whole MaNGOS thing. I have gotten my server up and running. I am able to log in and create toons and accounts. my roomate can also log in and create toons. My problems are in Game. I created a DK and just about everything there is bugged. Quest objects sparkle even though quest is complete and turned in. the majority of quests I had to .quest complete #questid in order to finish them. Well now the next bug lol. I am on the quest The Light of Dawn and I can't start the event with Highlord Darion Morgraine. I can't get my toon out of this area until i complete these chains so i am pretty disappointed with what I am seeing so far. Any help on fixing this or at least get my toon out of his start area would be nice.

sparkling is likely related to gm on, dk start quests are a problem wit missing scripts, there are custom around - but well, since ckegg provided some basic-scripts noone really put some effort to write good scripts for this area.

Well hmm. If I knew more about scripting I would do it. I am really disappointed about that area. I supposed I can't really complain. Maybe if you can point me towards some scripting tuts I might be able to start working on some stuff. So I guess for the time being I guess my next question would be. Can I .tele him somewhere and be ok or will I have an empty world (ie: creatures, npcs) due to the start area restriction?

I followed the guides on this site. and I am assuming by ytdb you are referring to the UDB that the guides refer to. If so then yes I did install it. If there is a better world database than what the guides list then I would like a link to it please.

Ok so is the YTDB a better database than the UDB? If so I managed navigate all that russian to download the sqls. I grabbed

570_mangos_FIX_(10650).sql

So do I have to rebuild my entire database with this new world database? If so how do I backup the accounts and characters created? I know to do dump for realmd for back up of accounts but last time I did that the characters for the accounts disappeared. The accounts still said they had them in the realmd but when login nothing to see.

**edit** I see the main DB has ACID in the title. Does that mean it is also in that sql or does it need to be installed separately.

You have should have four databases, characters, mangos, realm and scriptdev2. Dump mangos (world database where you imported udb), import ytdb full release into mangos db and import the ytdb updates and all mangos updates. You didn't have to go through all the russian, they have an english speaking section. ACID 3.0.6 is included, iirc 3.0.7 isn't.

Better is in the eye of the beholder. I'd say it's the most playable database around.

Yes i have all 4 databases. The english section of their site is set to private so I guess I have to register to see it. I will try it out and see what is up.

As a side bar, Am I able to run a raid with my GM toon? Like I tried to do ICC but I can't get past Lord Morrowgar. I can kill him but I can go no further. And when I zone in there is no fighting in the beginning between the npcs and the mobs. I tried with GM on didn't work. Zoned out ".instance unbind all" GM off, zoned in and same results.

Well really I wasn't sure if they are bugs or if it is just my noobness in game with a GM. Me posting here can tell me if those are known bugs or not. The fact that my server is running should tell you that I have the updates patches and such because I followed the guides here as stated up above. I put the title as such to make sure people saw it. If a problem I will change the title as a developer you should have been able to tell me that the DK area is not as bugged as I am assuming and it is probably because I had GM on the whole time. Like I said probably just GM noobness. Not trying to be rude But your reply sounded kinda rude to me.

db content is something which is not being discussed here (several reasons, if you're interested you can try to find some (older) locked threads ).

i've never played a DK and thus cannot tell whether it's your fault or not, that's why i'm saying that you should report it as a bug if you think that it's one

Well I am thinking prolly not bugs cause I didn't realize it mattered when I was doing it with GM on. On another note. Where can I find info on whether or not any northrend raids are scripted. And if not where can I find some scripting for it.

sigh ok i guess i will have to start a thread there then. the tracker says for example that icc is 100% but the events are not starting when i go in there.
