I did try that, changed it to another port of a common service which wasn't already occupied to masquerade it, just in case. Portscan reported it could reach the port of both mangosd and realmd but still no luck. Live chat at vpslan stated that they did not block port 8085, but its odd then, that I could not connect through 8085, but as soon as I changed the port I could. So, think I am off to somewhere else if I don't get a reply anytime soon.

I'll be watching this thread with interest, was just about to post my own inquiry about the same problem, with the same provider when I saw this thread ... edit: BTW I am running linux (Debian 5). Compilation of sources, install and configuration went flawlessly, except I had to manually compile and install cmake as Debian 5 bundles with an outdated version.
