  1. hey i am using http://github.com/playerbot/mangos/commits/master with ahb happens once a while for no reason last week i tried just the ahb and worked fine so idk

    it's AHBot doing the freeze. Especially if you have it set to put alot of items on the AH and have frequent buy/sell settings with AH bot. When I haven't had my server up for a couple of days I have to wait like an hour for AH bot to do its thing before I can log in. Then it causes occasional lag spikes.

    I also tried player bot first and auction bot second, same problem...

    Often times when you want to run to or more patches on your server you will have to manually patch it, using something like Winmerge (one a windows Machine, sorry for the assumption). It's what I had to do anyway.

  3. Question, does the bot cast healing spells on its own, or do you have to keep commanding it?

    Yes the bot will also heal itself as well as healing you and other party/bot members. I've ran with a party of 5 with me (a hunter), a warrior, a druid, a rogue, and a priest all those were bots and they all did their own thing. Although the running out of mana and sitting down thing was kind of annoying.

  4. Hey guys, hoping for a little help here.

    I've managed to compile ahbot into my mangos/SD2 build without problems. It shows up when I start mangos-worldd. I can't for the life of me get items to appear in the auction house! Here's what I've got in my mangos.conf file:

    AuctionHouseBot.Bind_When_Equipped = 1

    AuctionHouseBot.Bind_When_Use = 1

    AuctionHouseBot.Bind_Quest_Item = 0

    AuctionHouseBot.ItemsPerCycle = 1000

    AuctionHouseBot.UseBuyPriceForSeller = 0

    AuctionHouseBot.UseBuyPriceForBuyer = 0

    I've applied the characters_auctionhousebot.sql to the characters database, and I've used the ahbotoptions to set the minitems and maxitems, and attempted to expire existing options.

    Mangos reports that a number of items of different colours are created, but I'm not seeing anything at all.

    I'm running a personal MaNGOS 8280/SD2 1280/UDB 382 that's been running great for over a year now.

    I'd love some help if you could provide it. Thanks!

    P.S. Also, if I turn on the ahbot Buyer, Mangos appears to crash within a minute with a segmentation fault. If I turn on only the seller, it seems OK after about 10-15 minutes, but I'll have to watch it. I'd be happy to help debug, but I'd like to fix this seller problem first though.

    EDIT: Never mind... It's working now. (Either it's ahexpire, or something... probably mostly from me never seeing how auction works for real in WoW. Thanks anyways!)

    I had the instant crash thing too originally It was because I configured AHBot on before I actually made the character for it. Atleast that was my issue... was really annoying too.

  5. I have a question that has been kind of bothering me for a while now.

    When MaNGOS finishes loading with the AHBot patch applied it shows an Item count on the Auction house. I originally though it was the amount of items ON the auction house but it mentions like 14 yellow and 4 orange (or maybe the other way around) and I've looked through all the auctions on all 3 auction house and I even purged all the auctions and merged the auctionhouses into one and looked through them again and those items are NOT on the auction house at all.

    Is the data that shows when MaNGOS finishes loading telling you how many items are available TO the AHBot OR are they listing the items currently listed on the AH?

    Just trying to clear up some confusion. (If it's listing the items the AH Bot can place on auction perhaps a small statement to the effect of "The following are available to AHBot to make available on the Auction House(s).")

  6. Are you really sure you can get a sparkly empty corpse at official as well? From what I heard, it isn't supposed to happen.

    Currently I am missing a few sniffed packets that will show me how to messege the players that it's X player's turn to loot that corpse.

    Yes I am 100% positive this happens on Official. I was on last night and I was killing Apes in Sholozar (might have that spelled wrong) and I did get several that had nothing on it. It's an irritation when you are a skinner and have to Loot a mob that has no loot before you can skin it.

  7. @Greystar: The problem you experiencing is a session thing. There is nothing wrong in the core itself. It's the playerbot who messes this up. Did not dig into this yet - but I think there some session based variables we are not correctly using/resetting when bots and or player logs out.

    @witzel: Thx for providing debug info! In general this should be useful... but... :) it seems the call stacks are not usable for me. It seems it crashes on a normal teleport/taxi thing. Maybe this is not playerbot related at all. In my last post I explained to marry how to correctly debug with visual c++ on windows. Maybe you also could run it this way? Think I have to write some wiki tutorials on playerbot on how to debug the whole stuff correctly, so that even ppl new to coding can do it with their tools :)

    To-Do:

    1) Talk to flight masters in the way it was implemented for questgivers...

    2) Make it possible for bots to interact with GOs (especially lootable GOs having quest items inside). Maybe by selecting and using point emote?!?!

    #2 I've not been able to "target" a GO so I don't know how your going to make that work unless you change something in the core to make GO targetable. But it would be really cool to get this working, at the moment if I have bots that have a quest that needs to get items out of a GO I have to log in with that character and do the quest to catch it up to the "Main" character.

    I like being able to now tell the bot which reward to select when there is multiple rewards.

    It's been happening more ofter then not lately but it relates to what I said in #2.

    Lets say I'm playing as Joe the hunter and I have a bot Angel the priest. I'm running around doing quests as Joe and Angel is doing her thing as a bot. Now I switch and I'm running around as Angel and bring in Joe as the bot, problem is Joe comes in as Unknown and When I try to Right click on Joe it says you can't invite him to group because it says "You can't invite yourself to join a group". So somehow the server gets confused as to who is actually logged in when you switch like that. I've even tried kicking my bot from the group and dismissing them before I log out and back in. This may have been fixed in a newer version or a newer mangos core, I haven't been able to test a newer version of this or mangos yet because my "compiling" computer got knocked out by a storm and this computer has an error when trying to use Windows Installer so I can't install VC++.

  9. My first thought when I saw this topic was LOL...

    My second thought was RunUO is a better UO emulator the Sphere...

    My third thought was This is like comparing Apples to Donuts, can't be done and shouldn't be done.

    Also Sphere or even RunUO has had a much longer development period then MaNGOS. At this point I am toying around with running MaNGOS and seems pretty stable to me.
