Using MaNGOS for other MMOs

I do not know anyone personally who runs a private server for any old or current MMO. I am browsing the net to see if there is already a service or program, such as this one, that would help to create a personal server for MMOs other than WoW.

Is this puerpose something that MaNGOS has a design for?

either the client would need the same network packet structure or you have to rewrite those packets. the second thing is, that things like spells are hardcoded in mangos, so you would need to remove it.

a few other games use the same sorta systems

of a C++ app + MySQL's etc

But mangos is very specific to the current wow client...

yourd be better of creating from stratch, rather than trying to modify the mangos core into a diff game.

There's already server software for other games, as well as open source MMOs available, so there's not really a demand and it would only make development more troublesome.
