In game support for voice chat on a Mangos server. Is it possible?

Haven't played on retails in ages, so it might have been removed from the official client. Anyone have some input?

Of course it's possible, it's just a bunch of work. Most probably nobody implemented it, because the effort/benefit consideration is too bad

It is possible, we could use some parts of the code from mumble, but I don't think it's worth doing. Use Ventrilo or TS2.

the ingame chat on retail is pretty bad tbh, everyone ignores it and just uses vent/ts It hardly seems worth even implementing tbh.

for you info, ascent implemented it long ago. unfortunately AFAIK their licence is not compatible with mangos one. maybe a chinese wall approach would allow us to implement it.
