Microsoft SQL 2005 Express

I know the prefered SQL is MySQL but is there any issue using Microsoft SQL 2005 Express. It's just I want to gain skills in this for work while having fun doing MaNGOS.

Unfortunately it won't work

1) All SQL files would have to be modified to not use COMMENTs (since MSSQL doesn't support it)

2) There is no MSSQL interface in MaNGOS

If you're a good C++ coder, make one Certainly would be nice, it is a far better choice than MySql.

What he said. There is no MSSQL interface, you would have to write one yourself. There is a PostegreSQL interface if you want an alternative to MySQL.

Also MSSQL use different syntax for sql query indintifiers and partly for quaries. This can create big porblems because mangos include quary text to source code explicitly.

This is where sprocs are a much better idea
