The mangos community forums have been migrated to FluxBB. Many of you had raised concerns on using closed source software for an Open Source project, and we have listened.

While vBulletin offered a large amount of features, functionality and speed have always been an issue ever since we switched to vBulletin. With FluxBB you will see an increase in performance I call enjoyable.

Major feature changes

• Our forums are now public readable for guests, too. Account registration and login now are solely required for the purpose of becoming an active part of this community.
  
• The forum theme is now much lighter, and should have load times which are acceptable on slow connections.
  
• All fancy popup, AJAX, etc. features are gone. This is only a discussion forum now.
  
• Private messages are gone. Should you require any message, please send email to the foundation with your account name and email address. As we usually have a fairly large mail queue, please have a bit of patience (~ 48 hours).

What a crazy start for a fresh board but we are finally in friendly waters. Har!

Fixes

• Replies to topics do not show up. An database error prevented replies from being loaded. The issue has been fixed, and you should see new replies appearing now right after posting a reply.
  

Enhancements

• The forum design looks nice. Yes, yes. And we are slowly bring back the shiny stuff. Everything should be smoothly coloured, and now have a mangos logo up there (in the page header). If not - refresh your browser cache.

In the name of saving our users time, we now have a new feature.

Enhancements

• You can not see if posts already have been reported. This now has changed. If a post has been reported, instead of displaying the "Report" link, the forum will now show an appropriate message indicating the existing report status.

Sheep - just like other creatures - prefer things in pretty colours.

• My code=... posts are not highlighted. As of today, this is once again working. The sheep has applied magical wool to the BBCode parser and now we have lovely syntax highlighting again

Regular stuff still is regular, and so we now have a HTML5 compliant start page on getmangos.eu.

Fixes

• Code highlighting is unreadable. Oh, the dark background is gone, and most (if not all) supported highlighters should now be readable.

• UDB has moved to a different URL. Again.. *nods* Yes, and it is linked properly from the home page again.

• What is it with all those spam user profiles??? Right, and they are gone now. We have killed three thousand spam/advertisement users today.

Sometimes a little PM can go a long way.

Fixes

• Do I see doubled stuff? Indeed, that was weird. Doubled report links, among other stuff. All gone for good now.
  
• Is there more? Roughly 80 culminated issues fixed from reports our users sent it. You might notice a lot of less weird things going on now.

• Did that forum skin change? I assume you are seeing what I see. So: yes. We have tried to unify the visual appearance of the site in all areas, and will continue to do so. For now, the general page style should be the same, and the big mango takes you home everywhere.
  

Further improvements incoming. (Hint: we are heading towards HTML5/CSS3)

Now that is cute!

House cleaning

• What's with that Wiki? yes, yes, and yes. You have no issues with your eyes, TheLuda has spiced up the Wiki with a lot of nice templates, added style and stuff here and there, and started adding some helpers for building pretty pages.
  

More will follow.

Among the gems incoming you can find the newly designed logo for the mangos foundation. While the foundation has been announced long ago, we finally have taken the legal steps to create it.

Meanwhile, the mangos foundation logo hopefully will suit your visual desires.
