Mangos Cata (Local and External Error!)

Hi, first of all thks for the great work.

I'm trying to set up a server at home, but due to the realm bug in the 4.3.4 version i cant find a way to play with my friends.

Even try to make 2 realms pointing to the same place but with no luck.

Ideas, anyone!?

This issue really only affects the server, your friends can still use the hostname in their realmlist.wtf files, it appears to be true that it is a client limitation, but if the IP changes you only have to update it on the server. so when a client asks for the list of realms it will return the world with the updated IP address

Thks for the fast reply.

The real problem is that my PC is in the same LAN so I cant using the IP address (if i use DNS I can modify the HOST file in windows) but in this way i cant connect to myself.

I can only think of two solutions at the moment

1) get a router that handles NAT reflection (also called NAT loopback) so your local machine can connect to your server through your public IP address

2) rewrite the core so it can handle two realms, one with the public IP the other with the private LAN IP

hopefully someone will have a better idea than these since one costs money and the other requires some programming knowledge/skill
