I thought you had to 'git clone git://......' not http.

i have a problem while trying to use the git software.
i installed git and after creating a folder "Mangos", i right-click on it and select "git gui here" then click on clone existing repository.
i type in the source destination "git://github.com/mangos/mangos.git" and the target address is set to the location of my mangos folder which is in the desktop.
the moment i press the clone button i get this error, quote:
"Location C:/Users/Geam/Desktop/Mangos already exists"
can anyone help me solve this problem because i would really like to compile mangos on my own.
thanks in advance
EDIT: i have included a link to a screenshot of the git gui
Did you try deleting the mangos folder and see what happens?

hey vladimir, Oracle is not a good option?
I can tell you one thing. You will have bigger headache getting people to understand how to import data into oracle. Mysql setup and import is a breeze.

ODBC is problematic namely because of driver issues. Straight TSQL is always better.

Here goes the next problem while executing make:

Did you install build-essentials, i.e. sudo apt-get install build-essentials

That is actually pretty cool.

That's good information. I'll definitely play with it and see what happens.

Well they seem supposedly support the 3.2.2 client

I'm looking for some software that would allow me to change/modify character information in the database 'characters'. This would be from anything like give items, changing level, base stats, spells, money, location, etc.
I've seen a few but I'm curious if there is one that is more comprehensive that I haven't seen yet.

I believe you can. I think the process is to install all the 64 bit libraries and then use the appropriate compile flags, something like -m64. But search around the internet first because I don't know if the 64bit libs would over write the 32bit ones.
