Small question

Hey!

I was wondering if i could found out of the MaNGOS' downloaded source code if something works or not. I tryed searching for spell names and ID-s, manually browsing the directories but havent found anything usable. Rather i'd say i want to search for talent algorythms, because there are ones not too easy to find out if working or not. Tx in advance!

You search by spell ID or name.

did both with no results, ah starting 2 get it, browsing, and all id-s are missing. Maybe the problem is that i try 2 seek em with a simple notepad? Ah, or just seeking something not being implemented yet, i was searching a DK talent called "Merciless Combat"

Hmm..i searched a simple Smite, didnt find anything either.

Some spells/auras are generically implemented. For example, when they don't require a scripted effect, but just do something "generic", such as steal mana.

Ah, so there are more generic parts than the src/game ones...well, and where they are ^^?

There is a lot of information on DBC files that are processed by the emulator. The program look inside spell.dbc and get the general prototype for every spell on the game.

In some cases there is a need to a specific implementation on SpellEffects or SpellAura.
