Getting MaNGOS Revision 9582 from GIT (or SVN)

Hello,

I was just wondering how I could get a certain revision (rev9582) of MaNGOS from git. I am more of a CVS person myself but can just about manage with SVN. But git baffles me slightly.

Could anyone give me some hints?

git checkout 9582 (as google.com told me) doesnt seem to work

is perhaps not the best way, but will work

That did the trick.

So I guess in future, I look up for the commit that I want and then match it with that long hash value.
