Linux or Windows

Hi,

Guys i want to ask u that what do you prefer hosting mangos on?

Linux or Windows. I think Linux will be better cuz windows uses alot of memory and CPU on UI and i dont like windows that much anyway.

What do you guys think? What'll be better if i want to host Mangos?

If you dislike Windows, why ask? Answer to your question: depends on amount of players which will play on your server. For servers with online < 800-1000 you can easily use Windows.

Linux is better than Windows for using MaNGOS. I tested both on Windows and Linux with 10-20 testers online and players got less latency when I used Linux.

you just have to remember that you'll have to pay for a windows license

so linux is at least cheaper. i personally don't like windows servers, windows is (for me) something which you can (but don't have to) run on your desktop but which should stay away from any server (except domain controllers for windows domains and exchange servers (for those using outlook))
