*Mangos Version:

10653

*Custom Patches:

none related

*SD2 Version:

ScriptDev2 (for MaNGOS 10610+) Revision [2559] 2010-12-11 16:57:20 (Win64)

*Database Name and Version :

YTDB_0.14.0_R570_MaNGOS_R10650_SD2_R1847_ACID_R306_RuDB_R38.4

*How it SHOULD work:

on offy, when a player dies, the creature enters some pseudo-evade mode in which they return to home position after which it's HP and powers are instantly set to full and all auras removed also at this point creature turns around and sets its orientation to spawn orientation

this pseudo evade mode (running back home) is not considered a direct "enter evade mode" as NPC's auras are not removed (which means DoTs can make the creature die on it's way home)

*How it DOES work:

as soon as a player dies, the creature it was attacking (if there is no other selectable targets) enters evade mode, their health/powers get restored and all auras cleared and it doesnt turn around after hitting spawn position

*How it SHOULD work:

on offy, when a creature enters "Evade Mode" it doesnt get their auras removed or health/powers restored (powers -> mana, energy, etc)

(which is why your "DoTs" can kill a creature when it is still running to their spawn spot), when creature returns to "home position" the HP and powers are instantly set to full, (not regenerated by parts as we have it atm) and all auras removed also at this point creature turns around and sets its orientation to spawn orientation

as soon as a creature enters evade mode, their health/powers get restored(by parts) and all auras cleared and it doesnt turn around after hitting spawn position

Sorry to say, but what you write is not true. I tested on live, and it still works like mentioned on http://wow.allakhazam.com/wiki/evade_%28wow%29.

"When a player or NPC takes damage, they might be able to avoid some damage through the use of blocking, dodging, parrying, and being missed. However, when an NPC is in a situation where they should not be damageable at all, they evade.

Evading occurs most frequently when a mob is leashing back to where it was before combat. During this time, the mob is running very quickly and regenerating health at a remarkable rate so it will have reset by the time it returns to its starting point. However, evading can also occur when a mob is "bugged," and can't interact with the world. Sometimes this is a pathing issue, and you can attack the mob from melee range where it can strike back, but not from range. Other times, it's simply in limbo, and you may as well just move on."

When a mob evades even if its on 1% your DoT CANT kill it! You will get the yellow msg "evade" and it won't deal any damage.

ok, do this:

roll a lock, throw some dots, and die.

your DoTs kill the creature on its way back, you dont get no "Evade yellow text" and creature doesnt "regen health"

i also got a retail vid (which is pretty famous actually... the hunter who soloed flame leviathan in ulduar.. his Pyrite DoT killed levi on his way back home)

and actually you may be right and im mistaking the correct function... it may not be related to "enter evade mode" but reset on aggro table wipe? with no "selectable" targets

Yea I think it's a different thing.
