Problem installing Mangos

Hi,

I have a problem creating my server following your Windows Installation guide.

Installed GIT

Installed C++ 2008

Installed Tortoise SVN

Cloned Mangos

Cloned ScriptDev2

Failed at this point :

Right click on C:\\Mangos and choose "Git Bash"

Type the following command replacing the XXXX by the numbers within the file name located in C:\\Mangos\\src\\bindings\\ScriptDev2\\patches

git am src/bindings/ScriptDev2/patches/MaNGOS-XXXX-ScriptDev2.patch

When I right click on C:\\Mangos I can't finf à thread to « Git Bash »

Since it is mentionned that this installation is not required, I proceded further.

Configured C++

Compiled Mangos and ScriptDev2 with no error or warning message.

Problem is in :

INSTALLING MANGOS

Transfer the files from your compile folder into C:\\Mangos

They should be in C:\\Mangos\\bin\\Win32_Release

Go to C:\\Mangos\\src\\mangosd and copy "mangosd.conf.dist.in" to "mangosd.conf" in C:\\Mangos

Go to C:\\Mangos\\src\\realmd and copy "realmd.conf.dist.in" to "realmd.conf" in C:\\Mangos

Go to C:\\Mangos\\src\\bindings\\ScriptDev2 and copy "scriptdev2.conf.dist.in" to "scriptdev2.conf" in C:\\Mangos

I can't find where to copy « mangosd.confi.dist.in« . Can't find the « mangosd.conf» file in C:\\Mangos.

copy "mangosd.conf.dist.in" to "mangosd.conf" in C:\\Mangos

In fact I do not know how to explain this easier. Copy the "mangosd.conf.dist.in" to "C:\\mangos\\" and rename it to "mangosd.conf".

copy "mangosd.conf.dist.in" to the directory from where you run mangosd.exe and rename it there to "mangosd.conf"

Just for clarify: this made in this way for avoid lost old configs if you install new mangos core version in existed directory.

Sorry to be heavy on this point, but I don't want to make a mistake.

If I understand clearly, I must copy those files and rename them in :

C:\\Mangos\\bin\\Win32_Release

Is that right?

If this is the path to your mangosd.exe and realmd.exe, yes.

moreover if you would run mangosd whith Visual studio (very usefull for debug), you need to put config files and map in VCXX folder but this is a tips .

In fact i just set working dir for mangosd project in debug options and this more useful way.

This let have persistant fiels like configs/dbc/maps/vmaps in safe place instead temporary created bin dir.

Update your World of Warcraft client to the supported version

EXTRACTING FILES FROM YOUR CLIENT

Copy C:\\Mangos\\contrib\\extractor\\ad.exe in your C:\\World of Warcraft

Run Ad.exe from your C:\\World of Warcraft

In which file should I download my database please?

In the folder that you want because the database file its for the sql database, you need a database system like mysql for import the sql file downloaded.

The file where I download the database is of no importance since it will be imported by my database system after.

I can download the database anywhere on C disc then.

I am going to download it on :

C:\\Mangos
