COT1 & Doorways

Ok sorry to bring this up again, but i remember reading somewhere on these forums that it's not (only) a server bug but a client bug.

Finally found the threat.

http://getmangos.eu/community/topic/15883/walking-trough-door-in-a-shop-after-unmount-mount-un-mount-problem/

confirmed, with goldshire smith. Anyway this is client side check and it _only_ when you attempt enter and fail....

possible missing some data refresh send to client and dismount... Unclear what...

[added]it repeatable by chance. In fact most time for tests character auto-dismount and all ok.

So block added only when this fail.

I think you miss nothing. I have the same problem on Offy very very often and even more now that we can fly everywhere.

Some small mounts are able to enter and you automatically dismount when you are in, or the mount is too big and cannot pass the corridor, then you are stuck outside until you right-click on your mounting buff to remove it, then you can enter. So it's a typical client behavior.

Yes, this more easy way repeat bug. Cleary client still think that player have more large size that real after dismount by some reason. All normal data restored at dismounting зкщидуь related to not received by client data at mounting, or recieved in wrong time, or missing at dismounting. :(

Well now, since 4.x is a nogo so far, we will not be patching the client anytime soon, so the issue will remain in the client all the time.

So i'm just wondering if adding something like vmap.ignoreIndoorCheck won't be a 'good' way of fixing it for specific maps?

Since atm, cot1 can't be completed by some, thus all other cot dungeons are a nogo aswell, since they require completion of quests inside.

I don't know many places that really really need it, but cot1 could use something like that imho.

Win XP x86, release

Caverns of Time: Escape from Durnholde Keep dungeon

Party:

1x human warrior

2x draenei palladin

1x draenei shaman

(all entered dungeon unmounted btw)

Issue:

Some doorways act weird and can't be passed.

First, the draenei's could not pass the doorway wich leads to Thrall's prison (and thus couldn't progress the COT quest(s)).

The human warrior could though.

So we thought maybe this buff had somethibg to do with it: Human Illusion

We just continued the run, since the human warrior was able to trigger Thrall's escort.

Everything went fine, but arriving at the last house wich Thrall enters: Nobody couldn't pass that doorway, and Thrall died while fighting inside alone.

The next day we tried again, and everything was exactly the same, until the point where Thrall runs into a room to put on his armor: the draenei's couldn't enter that room either (no big deal), but the warrior ran inside the room perfectly, but couldn't get out anymore.

Had to .namego him out of there. And yes, Thrall died again in all the commotion ^^

So it's pretty weird, but breaks one of the coolest dungeons in the game (imho).

(I read some time ago that sometimes indoorcheck & unmount can cause unpassable doorways, but as said, we made shure we entered dungeon unmounted, so dunno if related)

wrong, this is a bug related to updating player's scale on dismounting ,the client still thinks youre mounted when you're not (thus it thinks your as big as if you were mounted) so you cant pass through doorways...

Sounds like that bug, yes.

General hint: always unmount before entering an instance, because teleport (aswell as logging in) while mounted seems to cause the problem most commonly.

Exact reason still unknown (to my knowledge, at least)...
