Finding Mangos Revision with git

I have downloaded mangos source code but I want to know what rev I did download.

I searched in forum but didn't find my answer.

using only git:

git log -1 --pretty=oneline

Typed that in gitbash but didn't work.

you have to do it in the folder where you've pulled mangos in.

This does get the version hash.

Is there a way to get the current revision number? (ie r8999)

It should output commit header on the right side of the hash, no matter if it contains decimal number or not.
