To git-id or to quit git-id

Be sure that nobody will throw you to the wolves if you just merged a pull request :)

git-id is just a neat way to do things - not something that must be done on all commits on all costs

My 2 cents.

I suggest to switch to numbering DB revisions only. This will make developers' and contributors' life much easier while still keeping DB-related benefits of git-id.

I personally want to be able to merge pull requests directly on github but I cannot because of git-id.

You aint dumb eh! That was a really smart idea!

I'm in favor of any changes to code organization that makes things easier and more efficient for you developers. All I ask is you leave the occasional signpost so us mere mortals can find our way.

Maybe there can be a "Release" branch for end-users, that uses the traditional versioning, while the "Dev" branch utilizes whatever is best for developers to track and organize their workflow.
