MaNGOS Ubuntu 12.04 Install - client issues

Hello all,

I'm trying to get MaNGOS running on a Ubuntu Server 12.04 box. At present, I have my external IP in the realmlist table, and port 8050 forwarded in my router, however when trying to connect from outside my network i am unable to connect. If i use the local IP in the realmlist.wtf I CAN connect, however there are further issues in-game. All NPCs are named "Unknown", I can't cast any spells, and the client otherwise acts as if it's lost connection with the server. However, i can still issue commands from the chat box, and the server recognizes them.

Any ideas? Thanks!

if you are running the cata version of mangos, the wow client needs to be patched otherwise everyone is shown as unknown.

Were you able to extract the dbc, maps, vmaps, and mmap files for your cat server? If so, any info on how to would be appreciated. Thanks.
