[SOLVED] [Zero] No Character Models

MalfarOrion

Question

Please help, I installed on Linux Mint using this tutorial https://github.com/mangoswiki/Wiki/wiki/DebianInstall.

I can login the the server no problem, however on character creation screen I do not have a character model for any of the races, when I log in I do not see any character models for any creatures. Any ideas of what direction to look in would be appreciated.

I imported all the databases as explained in the install tutorial, I grabbed the client from this link http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/5250337/World_of_Warcraft_1.12.1_Classic_(Install_and_Go_) which I found in this http://community.getmangos.eu/index.php?topic=19759.0 thread.

EDIT: I tried extracting data from a different client that I found (both that I have tried so far are v1.12.1 - 5875) and same results, my guess is that its something in the database, however I'm not sure what to look for. I imported the sql from server/sql as well as running make_full_db.sh from database/_tools and importing the resulting sql file.

i'm going to test it on linux mint 15 cinnamon after i finish updatepack for mangosthree and mangosfour.

i can recomment at this moment to check, does all required packs are installed in your system.

also would be great if you could publish atleast full info about your system (atleast version) and about your core, db, scripts version.

Disappearing models usually are an issue with wine, a graphics card driver, and your configuration of Wine.

Check out http://www.wowwiki.com/Wine_troubleshooting#ATI_no_Object_Textures.2FModels

There are similar reports all over the Wine bug tracker for the Vanilla WoW client, too. Seems like this happens with many graphics card and can be fixed by using

SET M2UseShaders "0"

in your config.wtf file.

Thanks for this, will try on Monday and let you know how I make out.

EDIT: Working now, thanks - you can mark as SOLVED
