Hi, In the process of updating my databases I need to compile files in my server. Should copy those files in MySQL correct? Also is mentionned in the Wiki to copy to the server files : dll. exe. and pdp… only found dll. files. Did I miss something? Thanks!

Thanks, Going to try this^^ ====> Found the database upgrade menu. On MySQL 5.1 it's one of the icone on the top of the window. You can't launch « Restore from SQL dump » with right clic on the database. First step : Updating your GIT files. Remote>Fetch From>origin is ok Success message Closed the box Merge>Local Merge>Merge I have an error message Failor of the order. This is so complicated! When we follow the Wiki, Merge>Local Merge, we have a window that opens with different options (screen II) no instructions on the Wiki concerning these instructions… I assumed I had to run « Merge » on the lower right ( Fusionner in French) Was this my mistake? Hi, I have to uptade my database. I am working with MySQL 5.1 and SQLyog. Can't find the way to update. Nothing looks like an updating order in Database menu or in Table menu. Went in Tools/Table Diagnostics and runed Optimize for character, mangos, relmd and scriptdev2. But I guess my databases are not upgraded. Can one please explain me how to run the updating?^^ Thanks!

Back again!^^ Well… I read the different point of vues of the Oracle peoples found in your thread antiroot … it was facinating… so much I dont understand! At the end there is a thread to a patch for the latest MySQL… but I wont try to work on the MySQL program. I understood the latest MySQL version is bogued for Window Seven users, so I decided to install the 5.1 version… it went just smoothly. Eventually it could be usefull to recommend the downloading of version 5.1 in the installing guide. Next step is « Setting up the SQL connection » SETTING UP THE SQL CONNECTION Install and Run your SQLclient. In this case "SQLyog" Click the "New..." button at the top of the window to create a new connection Name the connection anything you like such "World Of Warcraft SQL Server" Fill out the fields as indicated below: MySQL Host Address: This is "127.0.0.1" or "localhost" if your SQLclient is on the same machine as the MySQL server. If you're accessing this from another computer, put the LAN IP address or the Internet IP address depending on your needs. Username: Type in "root" Password: This is the password you set up when you've installed the MySQL Community Server (See PART 12 - Installing and Configuring MySQL) Database(s): Leave this blank for now Click "Connect" and save the change Unfortunatly I cant find SQLyog… *never felt so stupid* Could you please point out on the following screens what should I run? Hi, Sorry to be back to you guys with another problem. I am trying to install MySQL server and despite of many attempts and researches on MySQL documentation and forum, I cant find the solution. I always have the error Nr. 1364 popup at the end of the installation. I opened a TCP acces on port 3306 on my modem, but it still wont work. What is this « authentification_string » mentioned on the error popup? Should I open the public port with 3306 ? Should the name of my Lan server be part of MySQL? My Mangos version is 11190 My WoW version is 3.3.5. 12213 I downloaded : - UDB_0.12.1.393_mangos_10545_SD2_1833.sql -394_corepatch_mangos_10546_to_10720.sql -394_updatepack_mangos.sql -395_corepatch_mangos_10721_to_10892.sql -395_updatepack_mangos.sql -396_updatepack_mangos.sql -397_corepatch_mangos_10905_to_11064.sql -397_updatepack_mangos.sql -398_corepatch_mangos_11065_to_11156.sql -398_updatepack_mangos.sql Opened the files and manualy placed them in C:\\Mangos After having copied C:\\Mangos\\contrib\\extractor\\ad.exe to C:\\World of Warcraft, I runned succesfully Ad exe. Moved the folders Maps and dbc to C:\\Mangos. I meet a faillor in running : C:\\Mangos\\contrib\\vmap_extract_assembler_bin\\makevmaps_Simple.bat Seems data are not found, but they do exist in Maps and dbc… Creating server - error - C:\\ Mangos C:\\Mangos\\maps C:\\Mangos\\dbc Thanks for help!

Thanks for your answers. I like the "more liberal" approche of YTBD... but in another hand if it needs to be fixed later... I am going to try the UDB database, it's easyer also to communicate in english^^ By the way, didn't find the link on YTDB forum to download without beeing registered...

Thank you for the info lecails. I'd rather have a stable database even if less updated. Anyway, I havn't really the choice... YDTB forum is very restricted, I asked a freind speaking russian to help me register there... we failed on the ten question test^^

Hi, I'm moving on slowly but surely in creating my server, and this wouldn't be possible without the help of this great community! Once again I need your advises. I am ready to download the database of my futur server. I would apreciate if I could have some info on the differences between the UDB and YTDB database. I understood UDB is blizzlike and still needs some fixing. YTDB would not be blizzlike but a little more advanced in debuging. Is that correct? What are the differences between those database? And ultimately what database would be your recommendation? Also I tryed the links on your general document: « mangos>the free, open source World of Warcraft server« . The UDB link brings me to the UDB forum and the YTDB to a russian forum. Would you have a link to an english forum for YTDB database or for a download service for YTDB? Impossible to find my way on the russian forum. Thanks a million !

For info, I had to reboot my pc and change it's name with no accents in order to run Git Bash. It's impossible to change Users name with the Seven Home Edition. Thanks nevertheless for your help^^

Hi, I have a problem creating my server following your Windows Installation guide. Installed GIT Installed C++ 2008 Installed Tortoise SVN Cloned Mangos Cloned ScriptDev2 Failed at this point : Right click on C:\\Mangos and choose "Git Bash" Type the following command replacing the XXXX by the numbers within the file name located in C:\\Mangos\\src\\bindings\\ScriptDev2\\patches git am src/bindings/ScriptDev2/patches/MaNGOS-XXXX-ScriptDev2.patch When I right click on C:\\Mangos I can't finf à thread to « Git Bash » Since it is mentionned that this installation is not required, I proceded further. Configured C++ Compiled Mangos and ScriptDev2 with no error or warning message. Problem is in : INSTALLING MANGOS Transfer the files from your compile folder into C:\\Mangos They should be in C:\\Mangos\\bin\\Win32_Release Go to C:\\Mangos\\src\\mangosd and copy "mangosd.conf.dist.in" to "mangosd.conf" in C:\\Mangos Go to C:\\Mangos\\src\\realmd and copy "realmd.conf.dist.in" to "realmd.conf" in C:\\Mangos Go to C:\\Mangos\\src\\bindings\\ScriptDev2 and copy "scriptdev2.conf.dist.in" to "scriptdev2.conf" in C:\\Mangos I can't find where to copy « mangosd.confi.dist.in« .
