I am still a noob, but is the WotLK mangos core linked to on this list not the right version for the WotLK SD2 linked to next to it? If I am wrong I apologize, but I believe the core is version 12174 and the SD2 is for 12280. If I am wrong, please denoobify my knowledge. Is the WotLK core going to have a "final version"? I am looking forward to more of the Cataclysm and I hope to contribute to the DB team now that SQL is starting to make sense to me. Thanks guys.

I have a fairly powerful computer operating the server and have less than a dozen players, most with good enough computers to at least be near max settings. How do I optimize these settings to the max quality possible? For instance. what are the maximums and minimums for functionality? And a big "huh?" on Visibility.RelocationLowerLimit. For some reason I just don't understand the description. Visibility.Distance.Continents = 10 Visibility.Distance.Instances = 10 Visibility.Distance.BGArenas = 10 Visibility.Distance.InFlight = 10 Visibility.Distance.Grey.Unit = 323 Visibility.Distance.Grey.Object = 323 Visibility.RelocationLowerLimit = 10 Visibility.AIRelocationNotifyDelay = 1000

I've had the problem were one faction can't target the other with beneficial effects, even in group. You can't hand things over, you need to mail them. Minor inconvenience, you need a main healer of both Horde and Alliance side. It is nice to have all my testers in both factions in the same guild though. No hitting the who tab and hitting refresh over and over to see if the connection worked.

I've been looking all over for a page that goes line for line through the mangosd.conf file and explains what each does. Many are self-explanatory but others are very difficult to understand. Is there a definitive guide or am cursed to more trial and error. I've compiled the server four times over the years (followed by losing interest for something else shiny within two months usually) and have never taken more than a day to have a functional server. But now I have almost a dozen people (just close friends) on my server and I have more interest than ever in fine tuning the server to perfection. If anyone could point me to something that clarifies how everything works I will sing in elation. If no one knows of a good all in one description could some one wing one through simplistic answers. i.e... "More higher = more pretty or sucks CPU, more lower more fast runny." I don't need precision (despite appreciating it when it comes); I just want some of the cloud of mystery lifted from the huge list of options. Mainly visibility issues, for anyone wondering what I am specifically stuck on now. Preemptive thank you and a promise of a postemptive thank you as well. If I just did a bad job of searching this site and totally missed it already being posted here somewhere, I apologize, but I promise I looked.
