when you download addons sometimes u have to download a slightly older version..... as when the client changes addons work differently therefor the updated addon might be for newer clients... just my idea anyway

Refresh what version of the table you have to what i can tell you have most likerly missed one update and now every update after is an error as it checks the current version and then applys the update updates MUST be done in order.

So just noticed they released a major revision has anyone else tried it what do u think? did you encounter any issues with it?

drop the mangos database then put it back in might fix what ever is causing the issue

Very true. The idea behind alot of it: Give us MS qualifications... and MS software... because thats what people know, they hope majority go there wya and use their products later MS do have the majority so well... meh! I dont have any major probs with MS thou, so =) Just money.

As a student in the UK In Gre.ac.uk uni students get masses of free software free xp home/pro/media and 64bit versions vista ultimate x32 and x64 XNA (360 coding etc) Adobe masters Windows server 2003 and 2008 loads of programs like AutoCAD any software were using at the uni is normally included such as VB6 when i used it last year Visual Studio Professional... none of the Express stuff =P Express is free to anyone anyway =) Just register... even with true details

I don't think you should have to pay to learn... even thou i do pay for several courses atm =/ But I would like to see a CDKey system implemented into the mangos thing... sorta just for learning no real requirements etc

Hey I'd like to implement more security levels Rather than just 0-4 id like to learn how to make "custom" security levels could someone point me to where in the source the code is, as im struggling to find it and has anyone else tried doing this? and managed to do it?

I'd say vista was hardly anything like XP let alone W7... But yeah as already said don't use it as the primary os... as uve already said ur not so good for the whole of the mangos setup install etc i'd disable UAC as it's caused some conflicts on friends pc's I love UAC when it comes to work (repairing "idiots" pc's...) it does filter out alot but it also can ruin some stuff where it would allow part install of motherboard drivers... =/ But yeah! win server 2008 and Vista increased my network performance loads when used together if you head that way with networking, id keep it in the family

I'm pretty sure the Express Edition doesnt compile the 64bit. Find out what database versions you have character database: character_db_version mangos database: db_version find what the column header says, and then look for that sql file in the sql\\updates folder then update all of the files after that... could take awhile... if u havnt got many custom sections to ur mangos DB, then id drop it and start again... as for characters, im guessing people wouldnt like u removing all their characters, so your need to apply all the updates for that

i dont get the error make sure ur running the latest copy from the SVN also this kinda needs to be broughtup in there forum not this one...

the dates are for somewhat older revisions... i think they started with revisions, then changed to dates... and now were back to using revisions... =) If your new to mangos, then theres a pretty good chance your never need to touch teh date versions

Can we have a vote or something to just ban this guy? The internet first came around as a place for scientists to share information quickly! It was a free, sharing, learning place! Thankfully thanks to various people and communities! The internet is a free place, for developing stuff! Unfortunitly it isn't so free now in alot of places but the information is shared all over the internet so people can learn! The original intentions of the internet where "good" just like google's slogan "don't be evil" If you want to edit and compile your own version... then do it! If mangos was to do something like that, it would be a community very quickly shut down. Many private servers get shut down when they start to make money, or violate the terms and conditions of the Blizzard agreements. This learning community does NOT break any Terms of service! Because of that people are able to use this community as a educational project. I personally have learnt how to use C++, SQL, PHP and a few other bits and bobs because of this project! Stop trying to ruin it.

So i was thinking: I'd like to make an Addon ingame Taking as many of the .[command] options as possible and making some kind of GUI when your playing wow so you can open the "mangos" window and your have a list of available commands to your account level (like GM etc...) this would be based on the .command showing what commands you have available then with this some kind of tabbed pages, showing various commands andwhat not hoping you understand what i mean so far thought id share these links: http://www.wowwiki.com/AddOn http://www.wowwiki.com/Getting_started_with_writing_addons http://www.wowwiki.com/TOC_format i was looking throu curse.c searched "mangos" suprisingly i didn't find anything, and i doubt they would list it for long anyway.
