    The OpenSSL install is fairly straight forward with only a few default setting changes (one due to a bug in cmake).

    The default folder is C:\Program Files (or C:\Program Files (x86)) as shown below, this needs to be changed.

    Ensure you change the path to: C:\OpenSSL-Win32 or C:\OpenSSL-Win64

    which library does openssl use in the project and where could I start to try to update the project from openssl 1.1.X to 3.X.X ?

    @BitWhiz NEVER USE 3.x.x !!!
    It does not work with mangos, even though mangos will compile and run. You will not be able to login.

    yes, I was confronted with the problem.
    My question was rather : can you advise me where to start to make it compatible with ssl 3.00 ?

    Work is being done to mangos to make it compatible.  This hasn't been applied to all the cores yet

    If you download precompiled Mangos libraries from github releases, is OpenSSL still required to run the server, or is it only used in compiling it?

    Is this Installation guide no longer supported? The main install guide links to this page to install OpenSSL 1.1.1. The links are dead to download the Windows installer. OpenSSL 1.1.1 Installers (EXE) are non-existent anymore with ZIP files being the only way to get 1.1.1 on your windows P/C. The instructions are for the installer which no one will find, so in reality the whole Mangos install guide is broken as this install is a pre requisite according to the main install instructions. Please update if this is still supported please as it looks like the project has been abandoned for years.

    Any updates on installations? I can't get this to work. OpenSSL is on version 3+ and doesn't seem to work with any of these other 3rd party programs and I can't find a version 1+ download anywhere online.
