I Buy new Server with this information:

M/B : X8ST3-F

CPU : Core i7 920

RAM : 8G DDR3

HDD : SAS 146G / 15K

Which OS it's the best for this information and with 2000 Online Player?

1 - Windows Server 2003 Enterprise SP2 64Bit

2 - Linux Debian 5.0.4 64Bit

For that many users, you might want to consider Ubuntu 10.04 64bit server edition. It is debian based but does development more actively than vanilla debian.

Probably CentOS, but can't really say for sure how many players without internet speed.

Debian Squeeze (6.0, current testing) or something similar (fedora, archlinux, ...)

Avoid desktop distros (Ubuntu - way too much crap running) and production-stable servers (Centos - old & stable, not the best choice for bleeding-edge mangos).

ill chose Windows server 2003 sp2 x64 , its old like xp but good and easyer to manipulate than ubuntu(you have to learn commands here).
