It was mentioned with the realmd ACE update.

Looking at the source code would have easily shown the _HandleLogonProof with the commented section of how the patches are named. There could be an update to the patch naming convention to add in the multiple platforms, but the fact that realmd is now able to handle multiple client versions for multiple worlds exists. It wouldn't be able to tell which version you might be wanting to update to because this occurs before the realm list selection and before the logon actually happens. We also have the issue of having multiple mpq files to update from. I'm not familiar with the process before with these updates. I've always just used the launcher.

Here is a better way with apache. And also possible to modify launcher messages

What I don't understand is, when you download the files from eu.version.worldofwarcraft.com/update/ then you only get files with size between 1-2 Mb and not the full patches. I wonder how the hell these files you get from during update?

Long time ago i heard that it is possible to put patch files into mangos directory for updating the client.

I could be mistaken but if its's possible please somebody post how it works exactly.

Thanks for replies

Yeah! Sharing is caring. How else would anyone learn if we kept our knowledge all to ourselves?

He probably stumbled across the answer by using the Search button up top. lol
