After Merge and commit

Hey guys,

slowly I'm gettin' mad

After I merged some files (git mergetool --> tortoise mergetool), I try to commit them (git commit -a)

there always are this window

what I got to do there?

Well...how about adding commit notes (if you want) and exiting the editor?

I suppose you never saw VIM...which probably means you can't even figure out how to quit it.

It's supposed to be a text editor (opinions on its exact definitions differ...)

If you don't like it, configure git to use another one ^^

Or try git gui, if it's available on whatever variant you are using on windows.

For simple commit messages use

git commit -a -m "Type your commit message here."

If you want linebreaks and such, you need to learn more about VIM, git, or git gui

Ppl, why not just say how exit from VIM editor properly

You need press: shift-: (see in bottom : show) and then one from:

q! -> exit without commit note changes

wq -> exit with commit note changes

If you don't want do commit then replace all note lines by # in beggining for stop commit adding at exit
