Vendors and trainers

Hello mangos community,

I want to create a SQL query which will create a vendor npc and another one which will create a trainer. I know that this query needs to be run in mangos DB and the table to be altered is the creature_template .

What I want to ask is which entry indicates wether this creature will be a vendor or trainer or a monster ?

Please do not provide me with a completed query as my goal of this project is to learn to manage databases better.

As a very general pointer you could start looking here: https://github.com/mangoswiki/Wiki/wiki/Mangosdb-structure they'll probably have the tables you mentioned and hopefully there'll be an explanation of the fields you're looking for. I don't know how good this reference is for now though. Also you might have wished to have a look at http://udbwiki.no-ip.org/index.php/Main_Page but that just seems to redirect to cmangos for now. They had some better reference than our current pages about that.

Also, you could find a creature in the database and a vendor and try to check the differences between them to figure out what makes a vendor a vendor

The column you are looking for is npcflag. But I suppose it would be better to go column after column.

I have tried sooo many times to make a vendor. I always thought that on GM island it would be really awesome to have a Wolf Vendor instead of a humanoid vendor, but was never able to get him to talk to me after I set him as a wolf.

OH! How do you make them wander? Wandering Vendors are kinda cool, as long as they don't wander to far.
