where do i set rank of a creature (except of table creature_template)? i'm asking because i'm trying to change creatures rank and it's still marked as an elite (golden dragon).

and absolutely silly question, do creatures had silver dragon mark during vanilla?

The elite status of a creature is set in the table creature_template in the column "Rank", as you most likely already know.

You should delete your Client Cache after you changed it. If that still doesn't work, the only other thing that comes to my mind is to edit the corresponding .dbc-file.

iirc they sure had, the one i remember the best is in tirisfal glades, to the north, it was a gnoll that was rare

so i was right, creature_template table was the only place to change rank. but i haven't cleared cache.
