This new sub-forum has been created with the hope that it will once more draw greater interest in these playerbot mods. We're looking for new developers to step forward, create forks of the existing code, and begin new development so these bots will work with all versions of MaNGOS.

Not long after Cmangos was founded, blueboy decided to exclude support for MaNGOS, focusing most of his effort on that other project. Similarly, Ike chose to switch his Playerbot-AI work over to Mangos R2.

As things stand right now, Playerbot and Playerbot-AI are no longer compatible with the current code base for any of our server projects. The repositories of blueboy's Playerbot branches for MaNGOS Zero, MaNGOS One, and MaNGOS Two have not been updated in over a year. The same goes for Ike's branches of Playerbot-AI for Zero, One, and Two.

That's why we need you! So get on over to Github and grab the code before it disappears forever!

For now, the various threads for Playerbot, Playerbot-AI, and Playerbot-UI Addon are for reference and informational purposes only.

DO NOT POST SUPPORT QUESTIONS! It's pointless to ask for help with these outdated mods that are no longer supported or developed by their former authors.

Whenever someone does produce new versions of these projects, then please do post your support questions in the appropriate threads.

Keep in mind that we also need new versions of these projects for MaNGOS Three and Four. Neither Cata nor MoP has an existing Playerbot project of any kind, to my knowledge.

I've decided to move the various threads for blueboy's Playerbot and Ike's Playerbot-AI mods into Community Projects, along with Gitch's unfinished Playerbot UI Addon. Since they are modifications, they do not belong in the Development section, which is intended only for work on the official projects that completely emulate retail functions (with rare exceptions).

If there comes a day when one or both of these playerbots becomes an absolute gem of functionality and efficiency, it may be considered for addition into the core, like AHBot. However, given the size and complexity of either mod, that would be unlikely. They alter nearly every function of the server to some degree.
