BOINC might not be a bad idea from what i been googling it take a lot cpu power to crack 2048 bit rsa encryption so splitting it up among many pc with good cpu power might helpspeed up breaking the encryption

ok i might be blowing alot hot of air but the client has to have the key . so use something like Wdasm or some other program to run the client and connect with Wdasm you watch process of a maybe fig where the key is stored on the client side.im no programer. ifig maybe someone knows what they are doing can get the rsa key that way

ok this is interesting another wow server that uses a launcher instead of modding the client. at top page it says some about using a catus patcher to patcher to patch client. but on down the page he posted a launcher say dont need to pach any more.developer check out see if might be a way to help with mangos

you could get mangos communtiy to help capture packet by posting tools needed to cature and have them send to you that way you focus decrypting them and have plenty packet to work with also might want attach client version with packets.im sure there ppl here play cataclysm on official servers.

this may be a little far fetch but could you create a launcher or 3rd party prog to get client connect to server. then since client use addons create a addon to help the client to communicate to server.it prob stupid idea but it keep from modding the client.

This might help with Cataclysm but not sure if i should post it. but i found a server that run the Cataclysm 4.0.0 it base of mangos source code. iif safe to post up ill post it location. use it a staring point for Cataclysm
