Make sure you don't name the databases (mangos;characters;realmd) on the sqlyog login screen before you've created them. Leave that line blank, go in, create the databases, then step back out and type their names in.

Too many headaches and compatibility issues with Linux, for what I use Mangos for, Windows Server should suit me fine.

This is mostly for other people that might read this post and get confused, DO NOT load mangos.sql, only characters.sql and realmd.sql, the mangos.sql data is from UDB.

If you change the DBC files on the server, does that affect the client (player) data as well?

Mangos has switched to 3.3.0a support, if you download a fresh source it will be 3.3.0a, so update your game client. Rip the dbc files from that. Install the latest UDB database, it's still for 3.2.2a but will run fine with 3.3.0a Mangos, it just doesn't have the latest 3.3.0a content yet.

Dk reputation is bugged, at least with Knights of the Ebon Blade. They need a lot more reputation to buy rep items than what the item calls for. For example, if a tabard requires them to be friendly with the Ebon Blade, and they are, they can't buy the item until they're revered or higher.

I suggest no one even bother trying to compile on Linux until you see something in the changelog regarding the bug, Mangos won't compile on any Linux system right now.

Well you could always type .unlearn all in-game as an admin. Don't do it though, I did it once by accident because I thought it would only affect me, oh man what a headache
