The quest-description says:"Venture forth to the plains and find a mammoth bull. He will allow you to mount him...."
This is not working, there is no option to mount any bull. If your stay very close to the mammoth and kaw you can attack them, the aggro-range is minimal.
But before you have to clear out the area of all his minions.
