mangos two Error adding new races

I've been trying to add new races to my core following this guide: http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=165.0

I've followed every step correctly but I keep getting errors that it's ignoring the race in multiple DB tables, and it gives an error that the race/class pair is incorrect when I try to make a character.

Where to start.... hmm.. i am sorry you are having issues with this. However 2 things to pointout..  first is we do not support custom content. Although a Dev may offer advice, dont expect any reply other than this..  second. Our core has chaned so much in the  7 years  from when that guide was first posted...

Could you help me with another issue I'm having then? I'm trying to recompile the source but I get hundreds of errors and the build fails.

Is this with modified or unmodified core?

Modified. I've only edited SharedDefines.h

I suspect you have introduced a syntax error into the SharedDefines.h. The header file is included into lot of cpp files, it could generate such amount of compiling errors. Check you modifications thoroughly against usual C++ syntax.

I've fixed the syntax errors in SharedDefines.h but there are syntax errors in other files that I can't fix.

These are unmodified and downloaded from github today.
