mangos zero Can't fix error 1251

I try to follow the guide here:

 

When doing steps 19-22 i get the error message: ERROR 1251: Client does not support authentication protocol requested.

It seems to be something about setting mysql to use old passwords.

I searched the internet for a solution, sadly all the commands/guides i found work for older versions of mysql and i can't seem to fix my version (8.0), best i did was changing my root password but that doesn't seem to be enough without setting mysql to use old passwords and then resetting it, which i can't seem to do.

Anyone could explain a fix, keeping in mind its the first time i use mysql, so make it simple as possible!

When installing MySQL 4.8 there is an option to use 'Legacy Authentication', this is the option you need to select.

When things in Real Life calm down a little, I will update the guides to point this fact out.
