Desperatly need help for updating data via SQLyog for MySQL 5.1

Hi again,

I'm on a dead end here! Impossible to upgrade my databases!

Need somebody to explain me in detail how SQLyog works.

Following Patman128's guide, I have to proceed in :

First thing to do is to determine your databases versions

For each Database go into the following tables to find out the database and software version. There's an example in bold of what you can find:

Database Characters – Table Characters_DB_Version

Required_9375_01_characters_character_glyphs

Database Mangos – Table DB_Version

Version: UDB 0.12.0 (388) for Mangos 9582 with SD2 SQL for rev. 1639

Creature_AI_Version: ACID 3.0.3 – Full Release for Mangos (3.2.2a Client)

Cache_ID: 388

Required_9590_01_mangos_db_script_string

Database Realmd – Table Realmd_DB_Version

Required_9010_01_realmd_realmlist

Looking at the information above, this tells u that the only database that can receive something else than core pack is the Mangos Database. We are talking about update pack

On the Wiki is mentionned :

Third Stage "Databases": Updating your existing Databases. Open SQLyog Connect to the database server.

Starting with the Mangos Database: Expand it, and expand the "Tables" Look for: db_version Right click, View Data.

The table on the right, should now have a column heading with something like: required_[revision]_[#]_mangos_[last.fix] example: Code:

required_6970_01_mangos_playercreateinfo

If: required_[year]_[month]_[day]_[#]_mangos_[fix] example: Code:

[required_2008_12_22_17_mangos_item_template

then you have a "few" updates....

To update: Right click the Database, (Mangos database, not db_version table) "Restore from SQL Dump" The file to execute: You need to navigate to your [GIT]sql/updates/ folder. From this list, (sorted alphabetically) Look for your current version: (hopefully you wont have to navigate through the sub folders.) Starting with dates, (unless your existing database, is already managed by "Revision") You need to execute each sql dump. 1 by 1. In Order.

If: if one of the executes provides an error close the SQL dump window, go back to the db_version table. Refresh the data, and check the version you have. Then return back to the dumps, and pick the next file. Its possible you missed one, or repeated one to give the error.

Make sure that the SQL dumps are only [revision]_[#]_mangos_[fix] (Notice "mangos", not characters or realmd). I don't think they will apply anyway, but its just something to learn/pay attention to.

Now repeat this process for your Characters database (Table: character_db_version) Applying: [date, revision]_characters_[fix]

And repeat again for the Realmd database (Tables: realm_db_version) Applying: [date, revision]_realmd_[fix]

Now the problem is that I dont know how to acces to these database via SQLyog.

Enclosed different screen with SQLyog and its menu. (screens I to X )

I tryed to acces to Database Mango - Table db_version.

Double clicked on mangos (right clic dosent work) and opened « info », then opened db_version… (screens XI to XII)

Also tryed acces to realmd database info ( screen XIII)

The infos I have dont seem accurate. Nothing concerning my UDB version or Creature AI like mentioned on the guide L

Now I have a line that indicates « required _10537_01_mangos_command bit(1) NULL » I assume its the updated required for the mangos database… open the top center menu « Restore From SQL Dump » and search for the required database upgrade.

(screen XIV)

Only one line of upgrade dosent seems good! I am definitly wrong on this step!

I have a load of upgrades lines dowloaded! For mangos, characters, realmd database! How do I upgrade with SQLyog?

Other question: what should I do with upgrades dowloaded with my UDB (screen A)? How do I launch them with SQLyog? In witch database?

wooooow many questions :D

FOr the updates of udb first you got a clean udb in your database, this is the big file 77mb if i think right i see at your screen A once you have a complete db you just have to apply the updates of the packs you download at the mangos db, which vers. you got you can see in your db_version.

There is written which UDB Pack you got and just apply the next one, one by one, how to do that i don't know for SQLyog.

Some patches are named with _character_ these must ofc into the character database but there is no need to apply the mangos/sql/updates/*.sql since udb update this automatically.

Just be careful to get the same version of db and core since udb isn't updating their database that often.

OK, just want to be positive before I screw up...lol.

I have UDB 0.12.1 (393) for MaNGOS 10545 with SD2 SQL for rev. 1833 showing as my version in my mangos' table db_version.

For my mangos data I last updated to 'required_11385_01_mangos_creature_template'.

Now those are 2 different things all together right?
