look at the link in my sig ( http://my.opera.com/PseuWoW ). i have already started a client, but for now its still very... basic laugh.gif

so you see, it IS possible.

im in a great need of helpers, so maybe this is something for you.

BTW: the v10 release does NOT work with 1.12.x, wait for the update as stated on the site :)

/clap

Niiiiice. I'll be please to see the sources (and try to compile under Linux, but I'll have a lot of work with OpenGL and such things I think).

eehehe no you wont have work with openGL tongue.gif -> its still console and its primary usage intention for now is to be a bot to help admins. but yes, i would be very pleased to see a working gui on it one day. shouldnt be that hard because it uses SDL ( www.libsdl.org )

the sources will be included with the next version i upload. if there are more people willing to work on it im going to create a SVN on opensvn.

Is it legal to modify a client? I know that L*neageII strictly forbid modifying a client.[/b]
Well, I can't say I'm sure on this but you're only breaking the EULA of that software if you're modifying the client. However, if you publish your modifications with the original client, that's illegal.

As long as you don't use any copyrighted materials, developing your own client is perfectly legal.

cool idea! i think should mangos compiled with an option to allow login "special client" like yours; mangos isn't born to be an \\\\/ow server emulator but as mmorpg framework so your idea is more alike the mangosdev rather everyone else in these boards...

Maybe you can make a binary release along with source code? As i am horrible with compilers lol. And im sure many more are too o.O. Having a binary would help me alot as im trying to use MaNGOS from an acedemic point of view (main purpose) and having the client binary and source would help me achieve pretty much the unknown in terms of packets, and how the client communicates with the server and what not.

the bins are included.

look in the archive: PseuWoW/bin/ -> there is the exe you can run. sorry there is no linux version yet.

if you dont need the sourcecode, simply extract all files & folders from the bin directory and you are done. dont forget to configure smile.gif

Never even noticed that folder, Thanks man. Im about to see if this is a Graphical User Interface, Was looking through the code to see if it was and saw no trace of it, Would be cool as hell though if it was xD.

EDIT: Hmmm i see TrayPseuWoW.exe and Pseuwow.ico but thats it sad.gif, And the tray exe wont work.

Error is :

The system cannot find the file specified

Command line:

"pseuwow.exe"

Working directory:

"."

didnt you read the readme? there is NO graphical user interface yet! wink.gif

about pseuwow.exe, its strange that there is none for you in the archive... blink.gif

just redownloaded it to be sure, and i can confirm, pseuwow.exe is there, right in the folder where traypseuwow.exe is.

what virus scanner do you have? maybe it gets wrongly detected as some virus and deleted unsure.gif

I just redownloaded it and yep right there, Dont know what happened to it before o.O, Thanks for the respond on the GUI. Hopefully soon that will be up :-P, Nice project though, Im trying to learn 3D Game Development, And books just arent doing it for me, So having a Open Source client/server is going to be much better than a lousy book. If only i can understand half of what is happening, Id be good to go LOL. Also, Does your client load DBC's, And/Or models from the original W*W Client? Because i dont see any MPQs within the folder. Maybe if you have AIM id like to ask a few more questions lol. Thanks for replying, Danny.
