i got my frist mangos server yesterday, everything is ok, except some Language problem, anybody can help me?

I translate this sentence into Chinese ,it makes nothing Displayed at worldlogin

character chinese name issue

when i create a character with chinese name , it looks like this

then the name turn into a question mark

I assume, since you can actually create a character with a Chinese name, that you chose a RealmZone in mangos.conf that supports your language. Therefore I guess it must be an encoding problem.

If you look into your database directly, is the character name displayed correctly? If not, you should choose a character set for your database, that can handle Chinese. Normally UTF-8 should work, even for Chinese.

Same goes for your message of the day in mangos.conf. The file is encoded as ANSI. You should safe it as UTF-8 and check if it displays something ingame.

before i post this question,i have change RealmZone in mangos.conf to "RealmZone = 16" already, and when i type "variables like '%char%';" in navicat for Mysql,i got this:

Fortunately, you remind me about encode of the mangos.conf, when i ssfe it as UTF-8, Chinese massage can displayed at worldlogin.

Glad to hear one problem is solved.

Have you looked already into the characters table in your characters databse in order to see if the name is stored correctly? Otherwise I suspect that the World of Warcraft client sends the name with a different encoding.
