openSSL install noob issues (be in a good mood before reading)

Hopefully the fact that I have no familiarity whatsoever with openSSL is unrelated to just how much trouble I've been having even installing it on Windows 7:

So i DLed the latest version from "Silverlight Productions" (who is the only distributor that comes with a install wizard AFAIK) - ran the install just fine - however the problem presents itself when I'm attempting to run Cmake for the mangos/server- when pressing the configure button- I get an error

"Could NOT find OpenSSL, try to set the path to OpenSSL root folder in the

system variable OPENSSL_ROOT_DIR (missing: OPENSSL_LIBRARIES

OPENSSL_INCLUDE_DIR)"

(I haven't even the slightest concept of how to interpret this; probly here is where my SSL familiarity is exposed )

Also to further obscure the correct course of action:

It's worth mentioning that; within the install directory (the one created by the install wizard) - there is a helpfile created by "silverlight productions" that suggests how to "install" with MSVC++ (<< I'm using MSVC++ 2010) - (what was even installed by the wizard then anyway?) it says:

"The first thing to do (assuming a default installation of 'C:\OpenSSL') is to go to 'C:\OpenSSL\lib\VC' and copy it to [some MSVC subdirectory]"

However; upon browsing the actual installation directory; there is no OpenSSL/lib folder anyway!

I'm banking on the assumption that some people here will be familiar with silverlight's "openssl bundle"- and help me get that working; as I've already I tried reading the win32 install txt file that comes with latest zip of openSSL direct from their site; and i got no fucking clue what perl is; nor what essentially any of the instructions that follow perl installation are attempting to communicate- Me not being from the command line hay-days and all.

Awesome TY; that install link actually came with the proper files- I still have no idea how my other install of the exact same file (first link 1.01.g installer from silverlight website) managed to get corrupted- I tried to reinstall a third time to recreate the problem; but that time it actually worked as well- call it fixed!

this thread might also be summed up thusly;
