Searching a way to run on WinXP 32.

Hello,

It already make few month now, I'm searching a solution about something apparently simple : launch my server on Windows XP 32.

So, don't comment "Change your old OS" and stuff like that please, I just WANT TO run it under winXP for mw own reason. XP can run easily a 2.4.3 server so, again, don't argue about my OS.

I found a ".zip" file, and by the way thanks to people who make that kind of archive, with a Mangos (MangosOne_Rel20_19005_x32_November2014) with all the tools you need, but unfortunally when I launch anything inside I got that error : Not a valid Win32 application.

I downloaded that file few time, but the same error appear again and again, not a valide Win32 application. I'm coming here to ask some help, I'm searching an archive who work in Windows XP 32.

I thanks in advance everyone who can help me with that problem.

Bonjour,

Hello!

AFAIK the repacks are not supported by Mangos community. The best way, and the only one to guarantee the compatibility with your system, is to build the binaries on your own. More or less actual guide can be found here. The OpenSSL should be added to the dependencies.

BTW nothing special about your WinXP except that you barely find a developer using such system. I know at least a single ancient part of Mangos core kept in that (bad) state due to the XP compatibility requirement.

As a side note, as soon as we start using c++11 functionality, mangos will not work on older systems like xp, and possibly even Vista. So be prepared that legacy support will be phased out in the close future.
