That way the character gets back items he cannot have/equip. It is usual picture when playing with .levelup and .additem GM commands.

A newly created character receives items described in: 1) the CharStartOutFit.dbc file, and 2) the playercreateinfo_item table. If you try to duplicate a Unique item (either described in both DBC file and table, or with duplicate rows in the table), the action will fail ingame with the result screenshoted above. No other ideas about Hearthstone deny cause.
