  1. Hi folks Thought you might like to know, their is a new release of the free GPL version of Mangolin V2.02 for Windows and Linux. Now supports the MaNGOS Zero, One and Two servers. For all of MaNGOLin functions to work you are now required to have an ingame admin account with a security level of 4, for want of a better word ive called it GOD level and it can be changed from within MaNGOLin using the inline Accounts table editing, once you have changed the security level remember to disconnect and reconnect MaNGOLin for the change to take affect. Important: Please post your support requests or bugs in the Dazzleships Dot Net forum and not in this thread. Please note cMaNGOS is not supported although their is a good chance it will work, do not post bugs if you are using cMaNGOS. Thanks Bannor. 2. Hi Uncle I never had any intention of making money of the backs of the Mangos folk as they do excellent work and make it available to us for nothing but just like the mangos folk get donations to maintain their infrastructure I also have to pay for mine and donations didnt work so I tried the "selling a product" route and that didnt work either so back to square one, im still broke, have missed the odd payment for the website, for a while sales of SelekTOR helped me keep the site going but even that has dwindled to zero. At least by dropping the windows versions of my apps ive freed up more time to do other things it really was a nightmare to support multiple platforms even with Java and without any support I just got tired of the whole thing. Ive considered doing an Android app for remote control of the servers, and MDReaM already has the remote server functionality for upto 20 simultaneous remote clients built in, its just disabled for the moment. MDReaM server allows all mangos commands to be executed plus some additional ones ive added myself and the plan was to do an android client app to take advantage of that functionality, but without knowing if their is any market for it im not sure I can devote any time to it. Im trying to look at how I can further MaNGOLin for Linux development, so if folks have anything they would like to see in MaNGOLin then feel free to suggest stuff either here or over at my own forums as I have kinda run out of ideas and am just doing bug fixes and code cleanup at the moment. Cheers Bannor
  3. New version of MaNGOLin V1.02b released, and a new version of MDReaM. Both validated against Mangos 11840+. Regards Bannor
  4. New version V1.02a released. Validated against Mangos 11792+. Some bug fixes for the new Send Mass features. Regards Bannor
  5. New version V1.02 released. Validated against Mangos 11792+. Whats New : Can now send mass mail, items or gold from the server menu option. Whats Fixed : Portal manager has been fixed, old portal save files are no longer compatible due to the Mangos database growing in size and overwriting the area I was originally using for portal storage, I have now moved them to a new unused area. MaNGOLin will not allow the loading of old portal saves to prevent corruption of the Mangos database. Regards Bannor
  6. New version out V1.01k, minor UI bugfix. Validated against Mangos 11792+.
  7. New version out, minor fixes and validated against Mangos 11792+
  8. New MaNGOLin for Linux is out fixes a bunch of problems with dialogs not popping up when they should.
  9. Thanks Nuke. Well the Linux version is still free and will remain so, and if my financial situation should improve then I will probably make the Wndows version free again only time will tell. Cheers Bannor
  10. Ive decided for the moment to make the full unrestricted Linux version of MaNGOLin available for free and therefore this thread will be left open but strictly for the Linux version only, regardless of the thread subject title which im unable to change. Cheers Bannor
  11. Im afraid the latest incarnation of MaNGOLin is now no longer available for free. I would like to thank everyone for who voiced their thanks in these forums over the last 4 years especially to UncleNuke who's posts kept me slogging away at this longer than I probably would have without them. I will still be hanging about these forums but obviously folks who want to continue with MaNGOLin should click the website link in my profile for any future updates/notifications. I will be contacting a moderator to have this thread closed in the next few days, as I feel it would not be right to continue updating this thread due to MaNGOLin's new commercial status. 13. Their is a new release of MaNGOLin V0.98 available, see http://www.caledoniacomputers.com/?p=1264 for whats new and fixed. Cheers Bannor
  14. Hi Uncle Nope im still maintaining it on a regular basis, in fact im working on another bug fix release plus some code clean up which should be available in the next week or so. Im trying to get a rock solid reasonably bug free base prior to adding more bug... err features for a 0.98 release as im running out of letters in the alphabet. Most future releases of MaNGOLin will be bug fixes and maintaining Mangos compatibility only, new features will arrive but at a snails pace im afraid. Cheers Bannor
  15. Their is a new release of MaNGOLin V0.97h available, see http://www.caledoniacomputers.com/?p=1192 for whats new and fixed. Cheers Bannor
  16. @Cartman87 Yep it would be nice to be able to shift characters between accounts but as i mentioned above I have a lot of plans for MaNGOLin such as support for Mangos Zero and 2.43 TBC but without support its just not going to happen, simply cant afford to spend time on it as my family need me to make some cash, that credit card bill is just not going to get paid by me working on freebies. The code is open source GPL'd so if someone else wants to do it they are more than welcome to, as i said previously MaNGOLin will still move forward but its gonna be done on a long timescale. Thanks for the suggestion though, i do appreciate them it was a good one that i hadn't considered and will certainly add it to the list of things to do, I do want MaNGOLin to be the best it can be. Regards Bannor
  17. I will be upgrading the Caledonia Computers website on Wednesday 23 March, so if you have any problems accessing the website then the upgrade obviously didnt go well and you should try again later. Regards Bannor
  18. Yeh rural Vermont is sadly lacking in tech jobs and general tech infrastructure plus my expertise is oil related think Aberdeen, Scotland or Houston, Texas are where its at as far as my abilities go but the wife wants to live here close to her mum so im kinda stuck for the moment but we will survive. Im working on a paid add-on for MaNGOLin called MDReaM which is a few months away from completion so that might help if folks like it, otherwise I may just call it a day and go to work on more boring stuff that might make me some cash. Here is a link to MDReaM with a current feature list and some screenshots, I would love to get some feedback in the blog comments from folks who might be interested (registration is not required), I should add the current version is for linux only but i plan to support windows within a couple of months of the linux release basically the same as i did for the original release of MaNGOLin. Regards Bannor
  19. Thanks Uncle I perfectly understand if people cant donate simply because they dont have the money im in the same situation myself, I would love to donate to MaNGOS but i simply dont have the money, but ive been working on MaNGOLin since the idea came to me in mid 2007 and have not received a single donation to this day and it makes me wonder if i should even bother with it anymore, I certainly never expected to get rich but getting just enough to help pay for the website would of been nice. Anyways at the moment I will continue to support MaNGOLin and try and progress it whenever i can, as you said in a previous post it is a kind of love affair for me as it was my first ever release of my own software under the GPL and not software I had written for others (companies) which is important to me. As to financial binds, I can sympathise my situation isnt too great either but i hope things work out for you, thankfully I have family to fall back on and worst case may even move back to Scotland and get a decent job. Regards Bannor
  20. @mrelfire I have a host of new features such as character load/save and also a UDB database update feature planned but unfortunately I just cant afford to spare the time to implement them as MaNGOLin is having to take a back seat to commercial projects for the moment, I wish things were different and that people would donate but they dont so im pretty much only in maintenance mode for MaNGOLin at the moment although things may change in a few months time. Cheers Bannor
  21. Thanks for the nice comments folks. Just posted another release due to the continuous problems that UDB seem to be having, i have changed the additional content downloader to use the GetMangos Wiki as its primary data source. You can get MaNGOLin 0.97g here http://www.caledoniacomputers.com/?p=1100 Cheers Bannor
  22. Their is a new release of MaNGOLin V0.97f available, see http://www.caledoniacomputers.com/?p=1090 for whats new and fixed. Cheers Bannor
  23. Their is a new release of MaNGOLin V0.97e available, see website for whats fixed. See top of thread for details and download. Cheers Bannor
  24. Hi Folks Just a little status update to let you know that their will be a bug fix update for MaNGOLin late next week, this fixes some bugs with the Portal Creator and a crash/hang bug that occurs sometimes if Mangos server should go down while MaNGOLin is connected to it. It will be compatible with 9999 to 10904+ Merry Xmas from Caledonia Computers Bannor
  25. Yeh, I thought about using the emulator which is fine while doing development but its always nice to have the real thing, i'll bear your offer in mind Flint as at the moment i know very little about the Android platform except for running "Hello World" on it Thankfully it will be quite a while before i get around to it as i just don't have much time at the moment due to family duties and work on MDReaM is progressing at a snails pace. Cheers
