  1. DBC editing is illegal and NOT discussed on this forum.

    England

I've live in England since i was born (that's a LONG time ago!), although i have also lived in Scotland, and on the Shetland Islands (the inhabitants of which deem themselves more Norwegian than Scottish!) Those that live here will normally tell you, its crap it rains, a LOT.!. But, like any country, it has things that are nice about it, the Pubs are awesome, the women are easy and the beer is cheap! Some cities are very multi-cultural, where you can quite often have 3 grocery shops next to each other, one English, one Polish and one Caribbean. And like most other countries, there are places that you just never, EVER go to after dark and alone
  3. this. Also threads with titles like "help" dont usually get much help....
  4. ok kids, stop the flaming please. Its always helpful, if someone does solve a problem by themselves, for that person to post their solution. Its also useful if people read the guides thoroughly and completely before asking questions.
  5. much fail in this thread there is.....
  6. Then i would suggest asking the guides author for help. Better still would be to read the guides here, and then ask any questions AFTER that.
  7. scriptdev2 have their own forum, you should ask for help with sd2 there.
  8. ok ,closed, waaaay to much discussion of things that shouldnt be discussed, even after Vladimir deleted a lot of posts, it still continued. Dev branches in GiT are NOT supported in any way, if you cant figure it out on your own, then you shouldnt be using it.
  9. scriptdev2 problems should be reported and discussed on scriptdev forums.
  10. To answer the point aimed directly at me, take a close look at the threads that get closed, They usually involve questions that have been asked 1000 times before, answered in many of the guides, answered in the FAQ, or so blatantly obvious, that if you have to ask them you shouldnt be using Manogs. NO thread with a genuine question will be closed. But, if someone comes and asks "Where do i get mangos from?" "What does "DBC outdated mean"" "When will you support client 9.3" "Need help with <database project>" then the thread WILL get closed. As you should know, Mangos project is responsible for the structure of the database ONLY, NOT the content. As using database content will be illegal in many countries, it is, quite rightly, not discussed here. Mangos in itself is not going to cause Blizz much of a headache, if we started with the content/copyright information here, then there could be no end of problems. The same goes for things like client editing. As for people being involved in more than one project, I really dont see how that is any of your business! People/staff/devs are free to do what they like, when they like. They are here because they want to be, and (hopefully) enjoy what mangos has to offer them. Mangos is not built to be compatible with any particular 3rd party project, but rather the 3rd party projects are built to be compatible with mangos. I would suggest you do some more research and check your facts before making any more senseless flame posts, especially when most of your facts are incorrect.
  11. database content is nothing to do with mangos, you should check at the forum of your database author.
  12. maybe you should try reading the date of what you are replying to?.....
  13. please read the bug reporting guidelines and report bugs in the correct forum.
  14. mangos forum does not support or recommend any database content, as the use of content may be illegal in your country.
  15. read the compiling guide? linked in my sig.
  16. if the discussion is purely about modifying mangos code to make custom stuff, then thats fine. If you want to discuss scripting, then go to www.scriptdev2.com. If you want to discuss database content, then go to your DB authors forum. Due to the way this thread seems to be heading, its now going to be closed. You are free to modify any part of the source code you want to, no one will stop you doing that. If you have a specific question about a specific problem with a change you want to make, then by all means make a thread and ask the question. But this thread does not seem to serve much of a purpose. You are also free to post any 'funserver' type code modifications you make, so that they can be used by others. Just because they might not be acceptable to make it into the GiT repository does not mean that others might not find them interesting. And for future reference, big, bold, red, underlined openings to threads, making demands to the forum staff will not get you anywhere,
  17. you should read the .conf files before asking questions: # MinLevelForHeroicCharacterCreating # Limit creating heroic characters only for account with another character of specific level (ignored for GM accounts) # 0 - not require any existed charcter # 1 - require at least any character existed # Default: 55 - default requirement set it to 55 for Bl1zzlike settings.
  18. sounds about right to me!

    donor pvp system

modifying the source code is fine, what is not allowed is modifying the client files, which is what the above poster meant.
  20. be warned tho that this will not work how you expect it, there are MANY changes between client versions. That is why mangos only supports one client version at a time. Some changes will meant that a client might connect but will not work or will crash, some client versions wil lsimply not connect.
  21. try clicking it? Please, no more questions about database content, its not something that is discussed here, its mentioned in the guides, and in other threads. Try reading them.
  22. the database files that are with the mangos source code contaion ONLY the structure of the database, it does NOT contain any content (mobs, npc's etc).
  23. read the guide, you have no database, get one and install it.
