well, i think Vladimir has the right way to handle this. I dont see the need for anyone to think that they can only help if they have green name. If people fix things, post them in the forum, then the Dev's can see what these peoples work is like, then maybe at a later date, when they have "proved" themselves, then they can talk about being "official" mangos devs. Its not just about someones skill, its also about trust, and about people having the right view of what mangos is and where it is heading. I also agree with the comments made about Paradox, this guy has a serious attitude problem, Im sure he has some skill in what he does, but he has no idea about how to talk and interact with other people (you should see some of the PM's ive had from him ) As for access to change usergroups etc, ive sent TheLuda a PM, just incase he happens to check them at sometime, basically asking if someone else could be given access to change groups, IP ban and some other useful things. you need to stop the running mysql service, uninstall any installed mysql and then reinstall (thats what error: 0 is). 1)Click on start->All Programs->MySql Server 5.x->MySql Server Instance Config Wizard. 2)Click next then click on Remove Instance. Then Execute. 3)Now uninstall MySql Server using the Add/Remove Software in the windows control panel. 4)After this has been uninstalled YOU MUST MANUALLY DELETE THE FOLDER WHERE IT WAS INSTALLED. C:\\Program Files\\MySQL. 5)When this folder has been deleted you can reinstall without restarting and this time you will no longer get the error. 6)Be happy! =)

mangos does NOT and will NOT support repacks, if you cant follow a simple guide to get the source and compile it, then maybe mangos isn't something you should be using.

disable any antivirus (especially AVG) for some reason it detects rc.exe as virus sometimes, you may need to check if rc.exe has been deleted/quarantined by your antivirus, you may also need to restart your pc before retrying the compile.

ok, some confusion here methinks. Currently mangos supports 3.0.9 (master branch) and 2.4.3 (0.12 branch). While there IS a branch for 3.1.0 (310 branch) i would recommend you dont go near it unless you know what your doing. client patch 3.1.0 is NOT EVEN RELEASED yet. Stick to 3.0.9 and the master branch until an announcement is made saying that 3.1 is now supported.

i cant find the post, but i beleive the issue is that editing the hosts file in this way causes the client to be "redirected" to another source for the news. This is expressley forbidden in the client EULA and ToU.

simple answer, try it and see, afterall, mangos is a learning project, you dont learn anything without trying.

as patman says, there was a change in a previous client that causes all custon items to display as a question mark. The items still work fine, but theres nothing you can do about it.

if, after 30 minutes, you havent found the stickies, which tell you everything (btw you cannot dl mangos, you download the source, and compile it), then maybe mangos isnt for your?

mangos is not an emulator. Your question is pointless, if you ask here, the answer is "mangos is best" if you ask at arcemu forums, the answer is "arcemu is best" (see where this is going.) We have no interest in what oother projects can or cannot do.
