Unable to Connect - Sure this is My Error

Firstly thank you for the installation guides.

So following the installation instructions I managed to complete it all. I am pretty sure I am being a noob and have done something incorrect:

MangosVersion: ServerOne

ClientVersion: 2.4.3.8606

When using Git I had no errors, all applications installed correctly. Build ran fine, Extract ran ok (was a small thing with one of the extraction windows not closing).

I think My main issue is changing the conf files to be correct. While I understand the conf files somewhat, I am missing something as the server is running but the client not connecting (Realmlist.wtf is set to the correct Ip address).

Any help appreciated, please let me know if you want logs or details.

Hello there !
I'm glad the install guides helped you to set all the things needed.
So you're on Windows and try to set up a Mangos One server.
Be sure that all data in your Database is Ok regarding the IP, since you are on your localhost check the config:

Also, don't mess with timezone etc... just set it to "Development" in mangosd.conf :

Hi,

Two things to check quickly...

1) Have your got an entry in the realmlist table
2) does your entry for realmID in realmd.conf match the realmdID entry in the realmlist table

Does realmd.exe connect to the database ?

This File disappears after first run and closes on completion so no idea sorry.

As its a local install with not IP data think i maybe able to post the conf files?

Change the following setting in your realmd.conf to

WaitAtStartupError     = -1

This will keep your realm window open on an error

The LoginDatabase values also need to be set as well

So LoginDatabase values are just local right? all databases are held in the same location

 

Was set to 10 altered now.

Wait Do i need to re get the realmd.exe again?

You have 3 databases => realmd (or auth depends on what there is on script for mangos1 I cannot remember), characters1 and world1.
You must config realmd.conf and mangosd.conf with proper credentials in order to work. 
Then start realmd.exe and mangosd.exe

Take a screenshot of realmd.exe and mangosd.exe  to see errors.

Ok so I don't have a realmd.exe as it disappears after the first run, I need to get it again. Credentials are not the problem.

Any easy way of getting it again?

What technic did you use to build it ? EasyBuild or Visual Studio ? Because if you used Visual Studio, you can go ..\server\build
then open the solution MaNGOS.sln, then right click on realmd generate and it's done.
If you used ez build you can rebuild it, but it maybe rebuilds all the .exe which will take longer.
Or you can download it from the download section of the forum.

Thank you all very much. 

Realmd.exe was crashing and then deleting itself, changing to the -1 in the conf file made it stable and now we are up and running. Ty all for the help
