Dear devs,

I noticed a lot of new work being accomplished on the servers with the inception of Claude. I use it myself. The question now is: Is there a new release coming soon? I saw preparation for a Mangos Two 0.23? or the like in the github and am wondering if the new changes list (changelog) will be posted? I am very excited to see the project moving forward almost daily. I am interested in seeing if SHA1 was replaced or hardened somehow so I can adjust my WordPress registration plugin I just released.

Also on a side note, since server populations are dwindling, will a more advanced playerbot be included or even planned now that Claude can help sort the difficult areas out?

Thank you.

@Dallas Hi Dallas, You are correct in what you saw.

We used to do a major release / rollup of work every year, however due to my prolonged absence due to work related pressures this didn't happen (In fact Rel22 didn't get an official release, it just sort of happened).

We are still weeks away from that release, but progress is very good.

Some of the more ground breaking improvements are:

Console log moved onto it's own thread. - This has dramatically improved startup time of the server from minutes to seconds.
PlayerBots moved to their own process - This is a huge improvement, it means lots of bots doesn't seriously slow down the server.
Map system redesigned - Rather than the server using Maps, Vmaps and MMaps it now uses gomodel, tiles and mmaps. Not just a simple file rename an actual redesign of how the map geometry works and is handled by the cores. Massively improving performance.
New Extractor - I new extractor was needed to extract the files, made a bit more friendly and also uses multiple cpus if they are available.
AHBot is moved to it's own process - Again this takes the load off the main world server.
The 3rd party ACE Library has been removed - All networking tasks now uses standard windows / linux network libraries.
The main MaNGOS console has been redesigned to be much more intuitive , with a separate area for server details and the input area:

Finally we are extremely proud to officially be able to announce a working MangosFour (Mists of Pandaria) - Our small team have worked very hard curating AI work to get this server usable to record time. Rel23 will be it's first release.

In addition to this we are working on bringing all of these enhancements to all the cores, even when they didn't have them before including:
AHBot
PlayerBot - Will soon be present in MangosThree, others to follow

We are a very small team and we work on this stuff in our spare time so progress is never fast, but we are all very committed.

Yes, As the "root" emu project for WoW we are going to be driving forward progress within Mangos.

It should be noted that AI generated code is usually reviewed by another AI and at most points a human before entering the repos, the quality of work we're seeing very high and we'll continue to keep it that way.

To add to what Antz said about AHBot, its not just the bot being moved to its own process its the entire Auction system, so player listed Auctions will be through this sub-process too eventually. This will pave the way for other work i'm doing.
