[Mangos Zero] Extracting issues...

Hey guys, new member here....I'm getting upto the point of Exracting the assetts via ExtractorResources.sh and this is where I'm hitting my wall. Working off Server 2012 R2,VS2012. Following the installation instructions here https://www.getmangos.eu/general-help-amp-support/10595-getting-amp-compiling-mangos-server-rel21.html

Not sure what's happening, permission issue? etc....

Hi there,

Did you copy the files from the /server_build/bin / Win32_Release/tools into your wow 1.12.x folder?

Did you copy ace.dll into your wow 1.12.x folder ?

From the log, it seems like you are missing:

map-extractor.exe

vmap-extractor.exe

movemap-generator.exe

These files are run to do the extraction.

I've encountered the same problem. Compiled the source code on my laptop, and tried to extract maps and run server on my computer. The extractor must be run on a machine that has both ace.dll present and the correct version of Visual Studio used to compile the source code.

I just compiled mangos Zero, One & Two (all develop21 branch) using Visual Studio 2013, had no issues, and where able to make dbc, maps & vmaps with no issues using the tools, didn't test mmaps since they take so much time creating.

What I'm seeing is that my file structure is this.... /MangoSource/Server then drills down...So there's no bin directly off /server/bin, nor is there any file ace.dll. So I'm going to assume files aren't being generated for some reason...

Looks like I'm making some progress here with regards to the Tools.....

Still building but ace.dll was created properly.....Huzzah!!!!!

Curious, how large is the MMAP directory when complete? Seems like it's taking a while...

Maps take a very long time to extract, even on a good system. It will take some time, I would let it run overnight.

The total of all extracted files in zero won't be more than 1.5GB or so.

mmaps ended up being about 700+ megs. I'll update later after work...

Hey Threedog1421,

What was your fix on this problem? I am having the same problem. I dont have a server/bin folder so im having a hard time following the installation guide.

I dont remember this being so difficult on previous versions...

Nevermind.. i figured it out. I skipped the extract step and compiled anyway. Found the map extractor after that. Thanks anyway.
