Stealthed mobs poping up

Stealthed mobs does not work proper (still!). They pop out of nowhere and are not to be seen before you agro. http://youtu.be/SK5upfNwaHU I also managed to see the mob glitching right after it spawned. The stealthed mob was gray and I should be able to see it but not it's name. This is a serous issue in my opinion.

The mob being visible or not is usually based on your level. See Blood Furnace as an example. The stealthed mobs are not visible until they attack you, unless your level is high enough to actually see them through stealth. Can't remember if this is supposed to be handled the same way in Classic.

I remember seeing the mobs stealthed before they agroed.

From TBC times this is not standard behavior at least. Would need someone else's input on a classic standpoint though.

As far as I can remember, entering combat didn't really change how existing stealth effects worked.
Obviously, an NPC would be revealed after attacking you, but other than that, I don't think aggro had anything to do with detection in classic.
If the level/range/angle math favors you, you can see them (aggro or no aggro). Otherwise, they remain "invisible" until they attack (or cast a spell).

Joana's Leveling Guide seems to show the same thing. The panthers become visible (but are still stealthed) when the player is close enough, even though they have not aggroed yet.

Agree.. The mobs i encounterd did not become visible or shaded untill i got agro, that's how near i have to be to reveal them. You should be able to see shaded mobs if you look closely.

In classic it worked where when you were the same level as the stealthed mob, you could see it with distance to spare for aggro. This distance grew to a certain limit as you gained levels over the mob. At one or two levels below the mob I could see it just outside aggro range (literally a few steps), but three levels or more below and it always aggroed and then I could see it.

Xenithar is right, what i remember about vanilla is, you wouldnt see any stealthed enemies behind your range of vision which was about an angle of 135 degrees. If an enemy was within this view range they would be visible before you got into aggro range unless you were lower level than the stealthed mob. If there were stealthed enemies behind your view range, you would start getting attacked out of no where. One other thing i remember in vanilla is, when you see a stealthed creature and get within aggro range, they would remain stealthed and you would see them approaching your character at about the same speed as a walk/very slowly and you would have a flag for your character that your in combat. It was after TBC when they changed this so enemies break stealth when you get into aggro range of a stealthed enemy. The moment you see a stealthed enemy's model you were able to click on them and see their name/template. When you see a stealthed enemy and turn away so the enemy you just saw is outside your view range, you could still have them targeted and see them for roughly 5 seconds or so before they would dissapear.
