Custom instances

hi I was wondering, is it possible to make custom instances? how hard it would be? and where is the best place to look at to learn how to do this? i'm wanting to turn the crypts under kara into an instance.

Hmm, i've also been thinking to do something with the area beneath Karazhan, but i didn't came too far...

It's not an "real instance", so it's hard to make something nice out of it.

I just created a few boss scripts with SD2, and spawned the bosses in there. And to let the players come in, i made a areatrigger NPC.

yea thats what I initially did for a few quests that let you go in and kill boss mobs there. but when you got 15-20 people tryin to kill the same boss, its counter productive and not very fun. so I wanted to see if it is possible to make a custom instance out of it, or of anything for that matter.

is custom instancing not a viable idea? I would really like to do something like this, just would like a point in the right direction.

is this not the correct forums to be asking about this? I haven't gotten any response from anyone about how this can or cannot be done. a point in the right direction is all i'm askin for, if this can be done. or atleast being told this can't be done, if it isn't possible.

you can only turn entire maps into instances, not subsections of maps sadly.

There are already a few instantised places you could use for your idea, the unfinished instance in stormwind is one and there is a whole unfinished battleground which is also instantised which would also be good for outside boss encounters.

On the private server I'm in, we're starting "a project" where we're going to spawn the stormwind vault.

spawning isn't the problem i'm having. I just want to actually make an instanced zone. which ever zone I can do, but I need help tryin to figure out how to make it so player A enters portal, and ends up in custom instance B. Player B isn't grouped with Player A, enters portal, and ends up in Custom Instance B1 (his own version of the instance) etc etc

also another thing i'm wanting to know is, take the entire zone of say duskwood. is it possible to have the normal duskwood that everyone does day to day quests with, and also have an instanced version of duskwood for like big raids or anything like that?

Hi Guys,

The other tower in Stormwind - between Trade and Old Town.

There is a full instance there, much bigger than Stockades

If you fly in from above, and walk down the stairs you will enter the instance
